'War Models' as they're known were made within this 'restricted' period which was enforced by the War Production Board on raw materials, resulting in below par finishes and quantity over quality. The straight seams of each pair were stitched in the correct manner, yet forming the likes of belt loops or back pockets were often inconsistent. Their unusual detail is a fine example of why these have naturally become collectables.
